Serving the Patients, Staff, and Medical Professionals of Tenwek Hospital in Kenya, Africa

Our Family

 Meet the Pepsnys

Our family has a passion to serve those who are less fortunate, and we are being called to serve in education and medical missions at the Tenwek Hospital in Kenya, Africa. We are from Elk Grove, California, and have 4 children. We met as teens, while serving at Wolf Mountain Camps in Grass Valley, CA and have been married since 2006.

Our family has a passion to serve the most vulnerable populations. Our family of six is excited to say yes to Jesus and serve the Lord in Kenya in the following ways:

Our Mission

Tenwek Hospital

Established in 1937 and located in Bomet County, Tenwek Hospital is the Medical Ministry of the Africa Gospel Church in collaboration with the World Gospel Mission. We are a 361 bed capacity, Level 6(b), Teaching and Referral Mission Hospital which serves the needs of the vast South West region of Kenya and the country at large.

David’s practical skills and experience as a Hospital Administrator and Kristie’s certification and experience as a special ed teacher has led Tenwek Hospital to ask for assistance with operational leadership. We are excited to come alongside Tenwek and support the hospital’s great vision: “We treat, Jesus heals” by organizing systems, equipping hospital workers, and making disciples.

Our Mission Field

 Kenya, Africa

Today, Tenwek offers primary healthcare to an area population of 600,000 Kipsigis people in the greater South Rift region, and is a surgery center for a region of more than 8.5 million people. It is designated at the highest level (6-B) in the Kenyan healthcare system for a teaching and referral hospital and treats patients from throughout Kenya and surrounding East African countries.

Through the collaborative efforts of local doctors and consultants, long-term missionary doctors, and visiting medical staff, the hospital serves 190,000 outpatients (annual average) and 13,000 inpatients (annual average). Tenwek’s surgical team plays a critical role, making the hospital a popular center for major and minor surgeries.

Tenwek’s motto, “We Treat, Jesus Heals”, underscores its mission: to ensure that all patients, staff, and visitors hear about Christ and His love for all people and are encouraged to have a personal relationship with Him.

“Tenwek Hospital is one of the greatest evangelistic outreaches I know of anywhere in the world today.”
